Virtual Residencies
The Pixel Imperfect supports artists through immersive virtual residency programs. Discover active, upcoming, and completed residencies.
- OPENFEED Animated Shorts — An OPENFEED residency bringing together animated short works by Brad Pattullo and Andrea Russo, exploring the possibilities of moving image and independent animation.
- Artist-in-Residence — A FEED Media Art Center residency by Aaron Homerski, supporting the development and presentation of new work in a dedicated studio setting.
- Sandbox Residency — A process-led Sandbox residency by Alex Anthes at FEED Media Art Center, developed as an open space for experimentation and the growth of a new body of work.
- Threaded Lineage — OPENFEED's inaugural Virtual Residency, featuring the work of Yinkore — a phy-digital residency rooted in her personal matrilineal story. Tracing the legacy of women across generations, Yinkore uses vibrant colour and layered textile-inspired imagery to explore lineage, identity, and memory. Her work moves between the synthetic and the deeply personal, stretching digital aesthetics into something entirely new.
- The Archive of Forgetting — A text-based and performance work exploring what digital memory gets deleted, corrupted, and lost — and what that loss reveals about power.
- Afrofuturist Architectures — Building speculative cities rooted in African design traditions and projected into possible futures. Video, 3D modeling, and community workshops.
- Emergent Systems — An investigation into the aesthetics of self-organizing systems — slime molds, ant colonies, murmuration patterns — translated into interactive digital environments.
